Deadly Wildfires in Chile: Entire Towns Reduced to Ash – Fires Rage for Third Day

Deadly wildfires continue to rage across southern Chile for a third day, causing widespread devastation and loss of life. The death toll has risen to 20, with approximately 1,500 people affected and over 1,000 homes destroyed. Around 350,000 acres of land have been burned, with towns and entire neighborhoods reduced to ash. The fires were fueled by high temperatures and strong winds, and the emergence of new hotspots is complicating the work of firefighters. Residents of the affected areas are struggling to survive and protect their property, while the government has declared a state of emergency and mobilized all available forces to deal with the crisis. The region suffered similar devastation in 2010 from an earthquake and tsunami.
