Paphos Dams Overflowing: Significant Improvement Compared to Last Year

Three dams in the Paphos district of Cyprus have overflowed, with a fourth expected to do so soon. This marks a significant improvement compared to last year, when there were no overflows. Dam levels are considerably higher compared to 2023, with Asprokremmos dam at 32.6% capacity versus 25.4% last year, and Kannaviou dam at 42% versus 26.6%. This improvement is bringing optimism to farmers and citizens, despite warnings about the ongoing water problem in Cyprus. The repair of the Mavrokolypos dam and the Kouklia desalination unit are also contributing to optimism for the upcoming summer.
