160 Trees Planted in Gialia Coastal Forest

The Forestry Department, in collaboration with the Paphos Regional Tourism Development and Promotion Company, planted 160 trees on a 4-acre area in the Gialia Coastal Forest. The species planted included pine, myrtle, hawthorn, wild olive, and sycamore. The ETAP provided the supporting stakes and irrigation equipment. Simultaneously, the Forestry Department reminds the public of the prohibition of cutting or uprooting wildflowers and shrubs, as many of these are protected or endemic species. Violation of the ban carries a fine or imprisonment.
