6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Western Japan – No Tsunami Threat

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck off the western coast of Japan today, with no tsunami warning issued. The seismic event was recorded in Shimane Prefecture and was followed by a second earthquake, measuring 5.1 magnitude, approximately ten minutes later.
