AHK and OKYpY Agree on Photovoltaics for Limassol and Famagusta Hospitals

The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (AHK) and the State Health Services Organisation (OKYpY) signed an agreement for the installation of photovoltaic systems in the parking areas of Limassol and Famagusta General Hospitals. The total capacity of the photovoltaics is expected to reach 3.5 MW (2.7 MW in Limassol and 0.8 MW in Famagusta). The project includes the construction of metal canopies for the installation of the photovoltaic panels, while also providing shade for the parking areas. AHK will be responsible for the design, licensing, technical evaluation and construction supervision. The agreement is based on the successful cooperation between the two organisations for the installation of a photovoltaic system at Nicosia General Hospital, which has been operating since October 2024. The Ministers of Energy and Health emphasised the importance of the green transition and reducing energy costs for hospitals.
