Another Infant Formula Recalled in Cyprus Due to Potential Toxin

The Cyprus Ministry of Health has announced the recall of NAN optipro 1 infant formula (800g, batch 51210346AB, expiry date 11/2026) due to the potential presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by the Bacillus cereus microorganism. The recall is precautionary and concerns products distributed in Cyprus by Nestle. Additionally, the initial list of recalled products includes S-26 GOLD 1 400g (batch 51550346AE, expiry date 30/6/2027), NAN EXPERTpro SENSITIVE PLUS 400g (batch 51250742C1, expiry date 30/11/2026), and NAN EXPERTpro Lactose Free 400g (batch 51520346AD, expiry date 30/6/2027). The Ministry of Health urges consumers who possess these specific batches to refrain from using them and return them to the stores where they were purchased. Health Services continue to investigate the incident and will issue a further announcement if additional products are distributed through parallel trade. Specifically for purchases made online from abroad, consumers are advised to check if the products they received fall within the recalled batches.
