Blackrock Shows Interest in Participating in ADMIE

The Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy has announced the start of a process to increase the share capital of ADMIE by €1 billion, in order to finance investments of over €6 billion by 2030. These investments mainly concern the development of interconnections (domestic and international, including the Greece-Cyprus interconnection) and the modernization of the network. Simultaneously, the issuance of a bond loan of €300 million is planned. According to reports, the American Blackrock has expressed interest in participating in the capital increase, which is linked to the desire to reduce China's influence in ADMIE, where State Grid Corporation of China holds 24% since 2017. The Greek government aims to maintain control of the company, keeping its stake above 51%.
