Coldest Night of Winter Expected in Cyprus, Troodos Covered in Snow

Cyprus is experiencing a cold spell, with tonight expected to be the coldest night of the winter. The Troodos Mountains are covered in snow, reaching 31 centimeters in depth at Chionistra and slightly lower in Troodos Square. These are the first significant snowfalls of the season, which are considered satisfactory compared to previous periods. The temperature is forecast to drop to 4 degrees Celsius inland and -4 degrees Celsius in the mountains, while strong winds will intensify the feeling of cold. However, from tomorrow, a gradual retreat of the cold mass and sunshine are expected, with a slight increase in temperature. Rain is also forecast for Friday and Saturday due to instability in the region.
