Complaint Withdrawn in Assault Case Against MP Sykas - Immunity Hearing Still Scheduled

The partner of DISY MP Nikos Sykas has withdrawn her complaint of assault. The withdrawal was made by submitting a letter stating that she has no further grievances. However, the Legal Service has already proceeded with a request to the Supreme Court to lift the MP's immunity. The application was filed on January 7, 2026, and a hearing has been scheduled for January 12th at 11:00 AM. The decision to seek the lifting of Nikos Sykas' immunity comes after a recommendation from Annita Dimitriou, who had proposed the MP's expulsion from DISY. The case is now in the hands of the Supreme Court, which will decide whether or not to lift the MP's immunity.
