Controversial Video Sparks Political Storm in Cyprus: Turkish Link?

A video circulating on the 'X' platform has triggered a political storm in Cyprus. The video allegedly captures conversations between three political and business figures – former Energy Minister Giorgos Lakkotrypis, Director of the President's Office Charalambos Charalambous, and businessman Giorgos Chrysoschos – with individuals presented as interested in investments in Cyprus, but also discussing illegal funding and circumvention of sanctions. The authenticity of the video has not yet been confirmed, however, it has provoked strong reactions and led to an emergency meeting at the Presidential Palace. An internet security expert, Dinos Passtos, identified an interesting detail: the use of the Turkish letter 'ı' (i without a dot) in English words, suggesting possible Turkish involvement or an attempt at deception. The government has requested an investigation into the matter by the Attorney General and the Chief of Police.
