Cypriot President Meets Egyptian Oil Minister – “We Will Work to Strengthen Cooperation”

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, met with the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, who represented President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at the opening ceremony of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. During the meeting, the excellent relations between Cyprus and Egypt were reaffirmed, with an emphasis on deepening the strategic partnership between the EU and Egypt. Christodoulides assured that Cyprus will work to strengthen EU cooperation with Egypt during its presidency, considering Egypt a key partner for stability in the region. He also mentioned the importance of energy on his agenda and announced a meeting with an ENI official. The Egyptian Minister congratulated Cyprus on assuming the presidency and emphasized the strategic nature of the relationship between the two countries.
