Cyprus Health Ministry Recalls Infant Formula Due to Potential Toxin Presence

The Cyprus Ministry of Health has announced the recall of NAN optipro 1 infant formula (800g, batch number 51210346AB, expiry date 11/2026) due to the potential presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by the Bacillus cereus microorganism. The recall is precautionary and concerns products distributed in Cyprus by Nestle. Additionally, other batches of the same company's products (S-26 GOLD 1 400g, NAN EXPERTpro SENSITIVE PLUS 400g, and NAN EXPERTpro Lactose Free 400g) previously announced on January 8th are also being recalled. The Ministry urges consumers not to use the products and to return them to the stores. It also warns of potential distribution through parallel trade and advises those who purchased online from abroad to check the batch numbers.
