Cyprus Resorts Fully Booked for New Year's Eve

Entertainment venues in Cyprus recorded full occupancy on New Year's Eve, while hotels reached 60% occupancy. Representatives of PASIKA and PASYXE expressed their satisfaction with the increased traffic, noting that Christmas had lower occupancy due to the family nature of the holiday. Neofytos Thrasyvoulou, President of PASIKA, stated that more Cypriots chose to stay in Cyprus for the holidays this year compared to previous years, as Cyprus has been upgraded and is now comparable to other tourist destinations. Occupancy in entertainment venues on Christmas Eve ranged from 80% to 85%, while the day after Christmas reached 95%-100%. Nicosia and Limassol were the cities with the highest traffic, but other cities also showed good visitor numbers. Representatives of the tourism industry emphasized that the increased traffic is also due to the development of Christmas villages, an initiative that started in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and has proven successful.
