Cyprus: Trial Delayed in Case of Leaked Intimate Photos

The trial for the case of leaked intimate photos and videos of 12 women by a 42-year-old man in Larnaca has been delayed for over 1.5 years. The defendant has changed his lawyer for the second time, resulting in the hearing being rescheduled for February 2026. The case came to light when the defendant's ex-wife reported the circulation of the photos and videos online, allegedly taken during their marriage. Further complaints were filed by his current wife and ten other women, with the defendant accused of distributing pornographic material and violating legislation against violence against women. The complainants were alerted to the leak when they mistakenly received the photos via Instagram. The defendant denies the charges. The change of lawyer is due to disagreements regarding the handling of the case, and the new lawyer has requested time to review the evidence.
