Cyprus–India Event Highlights the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Driving Innovation and Growth

PwC Cyprus and the High Commission of India co-hosted the “Driving Innovation and Growth” event as part of the Cyprus–India AI Impact Pre-Summit. The event brought together over 100 leaders from the public sector, business, and academia to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to transform industries, stimulate growth, and strengthen bilateral collaboration. PwC Cyprus CEO Philippos Soseilos emphasized AI’s transformative power for sustainable development and enhancing human potential. He expressed confidence that AI can drive economic growth, improve efficiency, and create new opportunities in sectors such as banking, shipping, retail, and manufacturing. India’s High Commissioner to Cyprus, Manish, highlighted AI’s role in shaping the global economy and India’s efforts to leverage AI for accelerating innovation, enhancing productivity, and strengthening governance, while ensuring ethical deployment and inclusivity. He invited Cypriot institutions, businesses, and startups to participate in joint AI ventures, knowledge exchanges, and innovation partnerships. Demetris Skourides, Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation and Technology of the Republic of Cyprus, presented Cyprus’s AI strategy and the need to leverage AI solutions for increasing business productivity and efficiency. The event also featured a keynote speech by Subhash Jangla, First Secretary at the High Commission of India, regarding the upcoming India AI Impact Summit 2026 and India’s national strategy for AI-led development. Two panel discussions focused on the practical application and strategic potential of AI.
