Dams are of Utmost Importance in Cyprus, Says Environmental Commissioner

Environmental Commissioner Antonia Theodosiou emphasized the utmost importance of dams for Cyprus, given their frequent overflow and the scarcity of water. Proper water management, conservation, modern infrastructure, and adapted crops are essential to avoid waste. Ms. Theodosiou also mentioned the need for water storage and maintaining flow to the sea to preserve the ecosystem. At the same time, she stressed the need for desalination, but sparingly, due to the global water shortage.
