Denmark Receives US Assurance No Invasion of Greenland Planned

Denmark's Foreign Minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, stated that he received assurances from US counterpart Marco Rubio that the United States has no intention of invading Greenland. Denmark is working with other European countries, such as Germany and Poland, on a plan to address potential moves by Washington. Former President Trump has repeatedly expressed interest in acquiring Greenland, citing strategic reasons. The White House confirmed that various options are being considered, including military action. Greenland, while not an independent state, is covered by Denmark's alliance with NATO.
