DYNAMO Project Completed, Platform for Smart Renewable Energy Communities Presented

The DYNAMO project, implemented by the Frederick Research Center (FRC) and Electi Consulting Ltd, has been successfully completed and its platform for smart renewable energy communities was presented. The platform enables energy transactions between households with surplus and deficit energy through 'Smart Contracts' using blockchain technology. The pilot application of the platform was based on real consumption and production data from residential photovoltaic systems. The use of machine learning technology helped predict energy production and consumption at the community microgrid level. According to the results of the pilot application, the combination of blockchain and machine learning technologies led to optimal energy management, reduced bill costs for participants, and benefits for the electricity system. The platform was evaluated as user-friendly and satisfactory by users. The project was co-financed by the Research and Innovation Foundation with the support of the European Union. Speakers emphasized that the system demonstrates the ability to automate transactions with transparency and security, opening up new prospects for sustainable energy communities in Cyprus.
