Ecumenical Patriarchate Strongly Rejects Moscow's Allegations as 'Fanciful Scenarios and Insults'

The Ecumenical Patriarchate has strongly responded to accusations from Moscow, characterizing them as “fanciful scenarios, false news, insults, and fabricated information.” The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) had accused Patriarch Bartholomew of political stances regarding Ukraine and of receiving support from British intelligence services to create an anti-Russian climate. Furthermore, the SVR accused the Patriarch of attempting to detach Orthodox Churches from the Moscow Patriarchate and of interfering in other countries, such as Montenegro. The Ecumenical Patriarchate categorically rejected all accusations, stating that it will not be discouraged by propaganda and will continue its ecumenical mission.
