Eight Arrests Overnight - Thefts and Arson

The Cyprus Police conducted intensive preventative operations overnight, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals for various offenses. Specifically, in Limassol, three people were arrested for theft and one for illegal stay. In Paphos, one person was arrested for arson and another for causing injury. Additionally, two individuals were arrested in Larnaca for driving under the influence of alcohol. The operations also included checks on premises, resulting in nine complaints for violations of operating licenses and smoking in enclosed spaces. Over 600 checks were carried out on the road network, with 179 traffic violations and 36 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol. Ten vehicles were also impounded for further inspection. These operations are part of a broader and ongoing preventative plan by the Police to enhance the sense of security of citizens.
