Emergency Meeting Held Over GHS Software – System Still Not Functioning Smoothly

The GHS (General Healthcare System) software continued to experience operational issues today, causing difficulties for doctors and healthcare professionals. Although the problems were not as severe as in the previous two days, access to the system remained limited. The Minister of Health, Neofytos Charalambides, held an emergency meeting with representatives of the Health Insurance Organization (HIO) and the company managing the software, demanding immediate solutions rather than technical explanations. He emphasized the importance of uninterrupted access to the system for patients and healthcare professionals. The company had committed yesterday that the software would return to normal operation at the beginning of next week. The malfunction of the system was first observed in October 2024 and recurred until spring, with a temporary improvement afterwards. Healthcare professionals and patients have once again expressed their complaints about the ongoing problems, while the HIO is responsible for resolving the issues and restoring the smooth operation of the system.
