Erdogan's 2025 Report Highlights Energy, Defense, and International Challenges

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented his government's report for 2025, emphasizing the successful management of international crises and geopolitical tensions while safeguarding Turkey's national interests. He referred to conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, attacks on Iran, the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, and Turkey's relations with the United States, Europe, and the Turkic world. Erdogan warned of intensifying global competition surrounding energy, precious metals, and trade routes, predicting a new period of fierce economic confrontation. He argued that the governing coalition of the AKP and the People's Alliance represents the most stable choice for Turkey in these conditions. In the energy sector, he announced significant natural gas discoveries in the Black Sea and increased oil production. He also mentioned agreements for the supply of liquefied natural gas and the commencement of operations of the Turkey-Syria pipeline. In the defense sector, he highlighted increased exports and the signing of agreements for the sale of aircraft and the delivery of new weapons systems. Erdogan specifically mentioned the sale of training aircraft to Spain, the delivery of Altay tanks, the testing of the Tayfun ballistic missile, and the progress of the 'Iron Dome' air defense program. Additionally, he referred to agreements with Indonesia for Kaan fighter jets, the activation of the Türksat 6A satellite, and the construction of the national Milden submarine. According to Erdogan, these developments strengthen Turkey's international position and send a message of deterrence.
