EU Allocates €466,400 for Cultural Heritage Preservation in Famagusta

The European Union has allocated €466,400 for the sustainable preservation of cultural heritage sites in Famagusta, underlining its commitment to protecting the shared cultural heritage of Cyprus. The funding is for the supply of specialized vehicles and equipment for the regular maintenance of sites that have already been restored. Since 2015, the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage (TCCH), with EU funding, has restored significant sites in Famagusta, such as the Othello Tower, sections of the city walls, churches and archaeological sites. The new investment will strengthen the capacity of local authorities for preventive maintenance and long-term heritage management.
