European Commission Discusses Key Issues with Cypriot Government in Limassol

The College of Commissioners of the European Union convened at the Port of Limassol, as part of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, and held discussions with Ministers of the Cypriot Government in four thematic areas: Defence and Security, Economic Prosperity, Digital Transformation, and Values. Simultaneously, the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, held a bilateral meeting. Discussions focused on important issues such as Ukraine, migration, the Multiannual Financial Framework, energy security, and human rights. The Port of Limassol was chosen as the venue due to its importance for maritime transport and as a hub for the 'Amalthea' humanitarian plan.
