Former Bishop of Paphos to Appeal to Court for His See

The former Bishop of Paphos, Tychikos, has informed the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus of his intention to appeal to the courts to reclaim his Metropolitan see of Paphos. In his letter, he expresses his gratitude to the Synod and states that the see was legally granted to him through an electoral process. The Holy Synod will discuss Tychikos's case at its next meeting on January 8th, alongside a proposal by the Archbishop of Cyprus to amend the statute, allowing the Synods to elect Bishops and Metropolitan, and the people to elect the Archbishop. This decision comes amid intense discussions about the governance of the Church of Cyprus.
