Gaza: 13 Dead, Including 5 Children, in Israeli Strikes

At least 13 people, including 5 children, were killed on Thursday in Israeli strikes against the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian enclave's Civil Protection Service, in one of the bloodiest days since the October ceasefire. Four people, including three children, were killed when an Israeli drone struck a tent where displaced people were staying in southern Gaza. An 11-year-old girl was killed near the Jabalya displaced persons camp, while a strike against a school caused the death of one man. Additionally, a drone strike cost the life of a man in Khan Younis. Two more Palestinians, including a child, were killed in other attacks by the Israeli army. By Thursday evening, another four people had been killed in an Israeli air strike targeting a house in Gaza City. The Civil Protection Service described the strikes as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement. The Israeli army stated that it “accurately struck Hamas terrorists and infrastructure” in response to the launch of a “projectile”. Hamas accused Israel of abandoning its commitment to the ceasefire. The ceasefire between Hamas and Israel remains fragile, with daily violations of terms and a critical humanitarian situation in Gaza.
