GBL Substance Detected in Water Cooler Linked to Fatalities in Larnaca

The State Chemistry has detected the substance GBL (gamma-Butyrolactone) in the water cooler in Larnaca, which caused the death of a 78-year-old and the hospitalization of four people. The test results are considered crucial to the investigation of the case. Police are investigating how the substance ended up in the cooler and are continuing to take statements from the victims' circles. So far, no other individuals have been identified as having consumed water from the same cooler. The case is being investigated as a possible criminal act, however, a full evaluation of the scientific findings is required. GBL overdose can be difficult to treat due to its multiple effects on the body.
