Geroskipou Adult Center Celebrates 23 Years of Social Support and Creativity for Seniors

The Geroskipou Adult Center is celebrating 23 years of operation this year, providing valuable social support and creative activities for the elderly in the area. It was founded in 2002 by former Geroskipou Mayor Melis Christodoulou and Androula Neofytou, with a vision to serve the needs of the elderly and improve their quality of life. The Center provides a wide range of services, including daily care, entertainment, empowerment and social inclusion activities, as well as medical monitoring and physiotherapy. The goal is to keep the elderly in their natural and social environment, avoiding institutionalization. Daily, the Center serves 40 to 50 people, offering a safe and supportive environment. It organizes activity programs such as music, gymnastics, dance, crafts and cooking lessons, and also organizes excursions to various parts of Cyprus. In addition, the Geroskipou Adult Center organizes educational lectures by experts in health, psychology and nutrition, contributing to the information and empowerment of the elderly. The operation of the Center is an important factor for social cohesion and the well-being of the local community.
