Greek Airspace Closed Due to Serious Technical Issue

Greek airspace has been closed due to a serious technical issue with radio frequencies. The Civil Aviation Authority has issued a directive allowing only flights already in the air to be serviced. Departures, especially from Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, have been suspended, and flights in progress are being diverted to other airports. The problem lies in the central radio frequency systems of the Athens and Macedonia Area Control Centers, with the time to restoration unknown. Landings will be carried out 'manually', without the use of automatic systems. An experienced pilot points out the need to modernize the CAA systems, as they are outdated and insufficient.
