Greek Farmers Announce Two-Day Road and Border Blockades

Farmers in Greece are escalating their protests, announcing a two-day blockade of national roads, side roads, and border crossings after the Epiphany. Specifically, they will close key junctions such as the Bralos (effectively cutting Greece in two), Tempi, sections of the Egnatia and Ionia roads, as well as locations in Western Macedonia and the Peloponnese. The blockades will also extend to border crossings (Evzonas, Niki, Promachonas, Exochi, Ormenio, Kipi) and side roads. Farmers are demanding dialogue with the government regarding their concerns, emphasizing their opposition to the Mercosur agreement and the need for income compensation due to ENFIA and delayed payments. They threaten further escalation if their demands are not met.
