Greek School Principal Sentenced for Muzzling Student

A 60-year-old teacher and principal of a junior high school in Serres, Greece, has been sentenced to two years in prison for illegal violence and harm to vulnerable individuals, after allegedly muzzling a 13-year-old student with adhesive tape. The principal claimed the incident occurred during a game in the classroom, where she offered to put tape on the student's mouth to stop the noise, while other students allegedly tied him up without her prompting. The principal has appealed the decision, stating she feels wronged. Conversely, the student's mother expressed feeling vindicated and emphasized the importance of communication between parents and children. The Ministry of Education has initiated the procedures required by law regarding the case.
