Head-on collision in the Police Force over working hours - Equality announces mobilization

Relations between police officers and the leadership of the Force in Cyprus have escalated after a meeting with the Minister of Justice. The Equality trade union denounced the decision to cut 15 days of rest (days off) from frontline personnel, arguing that the working hours are exhausting and endanger the safety of police officers. The union reports that police officers now receive one day off for every 76 working days, compared to one for every 20. Equality has announced protests and legal action if the decision is not revised.
