Panathinaikos is set to complete the transfer of Sotiris Kontouris from Panaitolikos, with the 20-year-old midfielder expected in Athens for medical examinations. The deal will cost between €600,000 and €700,000, and the contract will run until 2030. Kontouris will immediately join Rafa Benitez's squad, along with Andreas Tetteh, and both players will be eligible to play from the first game of 2026. Kontouris's arrival strengthens the Greek core of Panathinaikos, which already includes Kotsaris, Kotsiras, Kyriakopoulos, Siopis, Bakasetas, Nikas, Tetteh, and Pantelidis. There are also several young players in the team, such as Fikai, Kyriopoulos, Bokos, and Nembis. However, the club's administration is not stopping there and continues to seek reinforcements in other positions. A priority remains the acquisition of a midfielder (position '8') with the immediate ability to make a difference. Furthermore, Panathinaikos is looking for a goalkeeper, left-back, winger, and attacking midfielder, with the possibility of further transfers depending on opportunities.
