Cyprus in Talks with France for 200 Armored Vehicles

Cyprus is in advanced negotiations with France for the purchase of approximately 80 Griffon and 100 Serval armored vehicles, some of which will be equipped with Akeron MP anti-tank missiles. The agreement, estimated at a significant amount, is at a critical stage but has not yet been signed. Cyprus is also seeking to renovate part of its existing fleet of VAB armored vehicles. The procurement is part of the European SAFE program, which provides loans on favorable terms for the purchase of weapons systems by European countries.
