Limassol MP Assault Case: File Sent to Legal Service for Immunity Review

The case involving allegations of assault against a Limassol MP towards his partner is under investigation. The case file will be sent to the Legal Service tomorrow to examine the request from the Limassol TAE to lift the MP's parliamentary immunity. The woman reported to the police that she was subjected to physical violence by her partner during a holiday in Greece. Despite the incident occurring abroad, the case can be prosecuted in Cyprus if the offense is serious and punishable by imprisonment for more than two years, according to the Penal Code.
