Limassol: Two Brothers to Face Court for Attempted Murder

Two brothers, aged 30 and 23, are to be brought before the Limassol District Court accused of attempted murder. The case concerns an attack on a 36-year-old on Independence Street on December 20, 2025. The suspects were located by the British Bases Police in the Ormideia sea area on January 3 and arrested with the assistance of the Port and Maritime Police. According to the police, the victim was attacked by a group of people while in a cafe. Initially, the perpetrators used electric shock devices and then one of them injured him with a sharp object. The 36-year-old was taken to a private hospital with a wound to his left shoulder blade. The British Bases handed the two suspects over to the Limassol TAE for questioning. They are expected to appear in court tomorrow for the issuance of a detention order. Police are continuing their investigations to determine the exact circumstances of the attack and identify any other persons involved. The case has caused unrest in the local community, while police assure that every effort will be made to bring the perpetrators to justice.
