Loizidis: Police Officers Seen as Numbers, Not as Families

Nikos Loizidis, Deputy President of the police union ISOTITA, announced the first protest event by police officers outside the Parliament, during the session of the Legal Committee. The protest concerns working hours and the financial burden on police officers, with a loss of approximately 1000 euros per year. Mr. Loizidis denounced that police officers are treated as numbers and not as workers with family obligations, while emphasizing that Cyprus has a history of illegal instructions and orders. He expressed his support for the police officers, emphasizing that they are not corrupt, but workers who need support. Additionally, he expressed his surprise at the Minister of Justice’s instruction not to invite the ISOTITA union to the meeting of the Joint Staff Committee of the Police, which will take place on Thursday.
