Medical Evacuation from Ship off Limassol Coast

A commercial ship sailing 90 nautical miles south of Limassol requested medical assistance for a patient. The Cyprus Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) activated the national search and rescue plan 'NEARCHOS' to conduct a medical evacuation. A helicopter from the 460 MMD of the National Guard, with a specialized nurse from the Ambulance Service of the OKYPY, was mobilized for the operation. The patient was transported to Paphos General Hospital for further medical care.
