MIGS Celebrates 25 Years of Promoting Gender Equality

The Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS) celebrated its 25th anniversary with an event in Nicosia. Director Susanna Paulou emphasized the Institute's dedication to promoting gender equality and defending the rights of women and girls through research, advocacy, education, and collaborations in Cyprus, the Mediterranean, and Europe. Founding members and board members, including Nikos Peristianis, Alexandra Attalidou, and Natasha Freiderikou, praised MIGS's work, highlighting its autonomy, credibility, and transformative impact. Dr. Peristianis noted that MIGS has managed to become self-sustaining and independent of external factors, while Attalidou underscored its contribution to strengthening women's rights and addressing violence and social exclusion. MIGS has successfully established a strong voice for gender equality, both in Cyprus and in Europe.
