Multiple Meetings to Begin Regarding Tourism Measures

Multiple meetings are set to begin today with the main topic of discussion being the support measures announced yesterday by the President for tourism. The measures include (a) a subsidy of 30% of the salaries of employees in the hotel industry, for units and tourist accommodations that will be in operation for the entire period from April 1, 2026, to April 30, 2026. (b) A plan to further support airlines, to ensure the uninterrupted connection of our country with important tourist destinations. From its side, the KEVE expressed its satisfaction with the adoption of measures to support businesses in the tourism and agricultural sectors, as well as society in general, emphasizing that the support of the tourism sector is of crucial importance, given that it is one of the pillars of the Cypriot economy and is already being affected by geopolitical developments. The Secretary-General of the Chamber, Philokypros Rousounidis, stated that despite the record performances of 2025, the new geopolitical…
