New Cycle of Performances for the Theatrical Recital “The Other Era”

The Fantastiko Theatre presents a new cycle of performances of the theatrical recital “The Other Era,” based on the autobiographical narrative of Magda Kitromilidi. The performance, which received a warm response from the public, tells the story of a group of Cypriot students trapped in Athens during the German invasion of 1941. Through the experiences of the students, the performance examines themes such as resistance to fascism, love, loss, betrayal, and the importance of education. The adaptation-dramatization and directorial supervision are by Magdalena Zira, while the music is composed by Antonis Antoniou. The performance highlights the worrying relevance of Kitromilidi’s work, as the erosion of democratic values and the rise of fascism are once again threats. “The Other Era” calls on the audience to reflect on their responsibility to injustice and the need for constant vigilance. The performances will take place at the Municipal Museum of Engraving Champi in Nicosia from January 28 to March 14, 2026. The performance is presented as part of the artistic events for the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and reservations can be made through the website www.more.com.
