North Korea Announces Live-Fire Drills Around Taiwan

North Korea has announced it will conduct military exercises with live fire around Taiwan, starting on Tuesday, March 29th. The drills, named “Justice Mission 2025,” will involve units from the army, navy, air force, and missile force. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un called for “unlimited and continuous development” of the country’s nuclear forces during the exercise. Taiwan has condemned the drills as “military intimidation” by China and has deployed its own forces in readiness. The exercises come after a period of increased tension in the region and amid concerns about China’s growing military activity.
