OPAP Cyprus, a member of Allwyn, has announced the appointment of Panagiotis Georgiou as its new Legal Manager. Mr. Georgiou will be responsible for overseeing the group's legal services in Cyprus, strengthening the strategic plan of CEO Alexandros Davou for development and regulatory compliance. He has many years of experience in commercial and corporate law, as well as regulatory compliance, with an emphasis on aligning with the National Betting Authority. Previously, Mr. Georgiou worked as a senior partner at the Pyrgos Vakris DEP law firm and was a member of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) department of the Pan Cypriot Bar Association. This appointment highlights the management's commitment to utilizing personnel who combine an understanding of the Cypriot market with international best practices and Allwyn standards. The appointment of Mr. Georgiou is a significant step for OPAP Cyprus, as it strengthens its legal infrastructure and ensures its proper operation in a regulated environment. His experience in the field of compliance is particularly important, given the strictness of the regulations in the betting sector. Overall, this move is part of a broader effort to restructure and strengthen OPAP Cyprus, with the aim of achieving sustainable development and consolidating its position in the Cypriot market.
