The Municipality of Polis Chrysochous is implementing a series of tourism and aesthetic upgrade projects, with the support of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, within the framework of the Grant Scheme for the revitalization of mountainous, border, agricultural and remote areas. The projects, with a total cost of €595,150, aim to create authentic experiences for visitors, enrich the tourism product and improve the quality of life of residents. The interventions focus on highlighting the unique characteristics of each area, its natural and cultural heritage, as well as its local identity. Projects have been implemented in Polis Chrysochous, Agia Marina, Gialia, Nea Dimmata, Neo Chorio, Pomos, Argaka, Drouseia, Terra and Kritou Terra. Specifically, the projects include the construction of fences, the installation of urban equipment (benches, bins), the creation of viewpoints, the construction of mosaics, tree planting, the renovation of fountains, the installation of lighting and screens, as well as the development of mobile applications and websites. The Municipality of Polis Chrysochous emphasizes that these interventions enhance the attractiveness of the region, contributing to sustainable tourism development and the overall upgrade of the countryside. The completion of the projects is expected to increase the visitor numbers to these communities and offer better living conditions for the residents.
