Paris: Foiled Bomb Attack on American Bank

A suspected bomb attack was thwarted outside a branch of Bank of America in Paris in the early hours of Saturday (March 28th). A man was arrested while preparing to detonate an improvised explosive device containing approximately five liters of liquid, likely fuel, and an ignition system. The incident occurred in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, near the Champs-Élysées. Police intervened immediately after the device was placed and proceeded to arrest the suspect. The case has been handed over to the anti-terrorism prosecutor's office, which is investigating it as an attempted arson or use of dangerous means in connection with a terrorist act, as well as for participation in a terrorist criminal organization. The investigation is being conducted by the Paris judicial police and the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI). Authorities have not yet provided further details regarding the perpetrator's motive or any potential connection to a terrorist organization.
