Parliamentary Committee to Discuss Restriction of MP Immunity

The Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs will convene to examine a bill from the Ministry of Justice aimed at restricting parliamentary immunity. The bill proposes amending Article 83 of the Constitution so that immunity applies only when performing parliamentary duties. The goal is to combat the abusive use of immunity by MPs to avoid justice. Parliament will soon be dissolved ahead of elections, leaving the question of whether the bill will be voted on by the current Parliament or passed on to the next.
