PASYKI Accuses CYPA of 'Management Failure' Regarding Domestic Violence Allegations

PASYKI (the Cyprus Association of Public Servants) is strongly criticizing the management of the Cyprus Public Health Insurance Organisation (CYPA) regarding allegations of domestic and sexual violence involving doctors. It highlights that repeated and documented complaints have not been effectively addressed, creating a climate of impunity and endangering patient safety. PASYKI emphasizes that the inaction of CYPA cannot be attributed to isolated incidents but constitutes a systemic problem. It demands a full and objective investigation of the complaints, without interference or cover-up, while also pointing out that the investigation cannot be used as an excuse for inaction. The organization stresses that the complaints originate from doctors within the public health system, indicating the existence of serious problems and the medical staff's attempt to protect patients and the dignity of the system. PASYKI concludes that the CYPA's management must take responsibility and take immediate action to address the violence and protect patients, as its inaction is part of the problem, not the solution.
