Polar Bear Injures Three Family Members, Including a Child, in Siberia

A polar bear injured three members of the same family, including an 11-year-old child, in a remote area of northern Siberia. The attack occurred near the village of Nosok, in the Krasnoyarsk region, approximately 2,700 kilometers from Moscow. The injured received first aid, and one may require hospitalization. A local police officer and residents managed to drive the bear away using an off-road vehicle. Polar bear attacks on humans are rare, but experts point out that climate change and melting ice are forcing the animals to approach inhabited areas in search of food. A similar incident occurred in 2019 on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago.
