Police Continue Enhanced Patrols, Eight Arrests Made

The Cyprus Police continue their dynamic and targeted preventative operations in urban areas, aiming to prevent criminal activity and protect citizens. During the past night, hundreds of checks were carried out and eight people were arrested for various offenses. In Limassol, three people were arrested for theft and one for illegal stay. In Paphos, one person was arrested for arson and another for causing injury. In Larnaca, two people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. In addition, 42 premises were checked, resulting in nine complaints for violations of operating licenses and smoking in enclosed spaces. Over 600 checks were carried out on the road network, with 179 traffic violations and 36 people driving under the influence of alcohol. Ten vehicles were also impounded for further inspection. The operations will continue with increased police presence and targeted controls.
