Police Raids and Arrests Across Cyprus in Crime Prevention Operations

The Cypriot Police conducted enhanced preventative operations throughout the night, with an increased presence in urban areas, aiming to prevent criminal activity and protect citizens. A total of seven individuals were arrested for various offenses during the operations. In Nicosia, two individuals were arrested for illegal possession of drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol, respectively. In Larnaca, one person was arrested for traffic offenses, while in Paphos, four individuals were arrested for illegal possession of drugs, illegal stay, common assault, and failure to appear in court. The checks included over 346 vehicles and 80 individuals, as well as 26 checks on premises. A total of 124 traffic violations were identified, and 7 reports were filed for driving under the influence of alcohol. Three vehicles were also impounded. These operations are part of a broader, ongoing, and enhanced preventative plan by the Police, with increased presence and targeted checks in all provinces, aiming to strengthen the sense of security among citizens.
